The Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education® Announces Joint Partnership with FEMA
Following multiple historic disasters across the United States, and in preparation for future incidents, the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education® (AFCPE®) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have announced a joint partnership to help improve financial preparedness of individuals and families before a natural disaster. Effective immediately, the two organizations will work together to develop comprehensive training for financial professionals and aid in the financial preparedness of individuals across the country.
"This year's awards ceremony was incredibly special, as we celebrated AFCPE's 35th anniversary and 25 years of the AFC® certification. Every year I am inspired by the work that is being done in our field. These professionals are elevating the field through innovation, expertise, leadership, mentorship, and action," said AFCPE Executive Director, Rebecca Wiggins.
The FINRA Investor Education Foundation (FINRA Foundation) has announced the recipients of the first annual awards to FINRA Foundation Military Spouse Fellows for outstanding service and dedication to military service members and their families. The FINRA Foundation Military Spouse Fellowship offers military spouses the opportunity to earn a career-enhancing credential—the Accredited Financial Counselor® (AFC®) certificate—while providing financial counseling and education to the military community. Created in 2006, the program is administered in partnership with the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education® (AFCPE®) and the National Military Family Association (NMFA).
