The FINRA Investor Education Foundation has awarded fellowships to 50 military spouses seeking to earn their AFC® (Accredited Financial Counselor®) designation to provide military service members and their families one-on-one and group financial counseling and education.


Four out of five Americans owe some kind of debt and that makes many of us ripe targets for illicit operators that use illegal techniques to collect debts – including red ink that may never have been incurred. Today, the nonprofit and noncommercial Association for Financial Counseling & Planning Education® (AFCPE®) issued a first-ever Consumer Bulletin about consumer debt collection abuses.


Ambitious Statewide "Building the Bridge" Program Launched to Encourage More Ohio Residents to Save and Invest for Retirement; Events Planned in Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati/Dayton.

Opportunity for Military Spouses to Earn A Career-Enhancing Credential While Providing Financial Readiness to Military Service Members and Families.


"This year's award winners represent diversity in innovation, expertise and leadership," said AFCPE Executive Director, Rebecca Wiggins. "Our members are making incredible accomplishments across financial education, research, and practice – setting the standard for the important work happening in our field."


For the participants in the Community Financial Empowerment Certification Program, this opportunity provides value twofold. It allows them to build upon the knowledge they are learning in their training, by working with a highly skilled and qualified AFC® certified professional; but it also allows them to take a moment to focus on their financial needs. For social service providers who are continually putting the needs of others first, this event provides the chance to build financial empowerment and well-being in their lives.


Visa Inc. and the Association for Financial Counseling & Planning Education® (AFCPE®) today announced the launch of a new program designed to provide veterans with professional financial management support. The Visa Veterans Financial Outreach Program will provide free, unbiased financial counseling with the initial goal of assisting 1,500 veterans over the next year.
